Parasite Cleanse: A Daily Routine

Since beginning my own parasite-cleanse journey I’ve been asked to share a basic parasite cleanse routine. An example of a daily routine you can include into your parasite cleanse could look something like this. (I consider this the absolute basic of what you should include in any parasite cleanse)

7:00am – Herbal capsules

Start the day by taking the big 3 herbs on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. The essential 3 herbs used for in any parasite cleanse are of the following; Cloves, Wormwood and Black Walnut.

There are supplements that contain all 3 herbs in one capsule. I personally recommend getting these 3 herbs separately. This is advantageous as some people report increased benefits from taking the cloves capsules first, then waiting 20-30 minutes before consuming the Black Walnut & Wormwood capsules. If you must you can take all 3 herbs at the same time. If you’re anything like me you’re going to find it easier to pop 3 separate types of capsules with some water, compared to a it an extremely bitter tincture first thing in the morning. (more on that later)

9.00am – Binder

Now is a good time to take your first digestive binder of the day. Taking a binder serves two purposes, firstly it can bind numerous toxins in the digestive tract including mould, viruses, heavy metals, candida and of course parasites. A second function is a binder can add a solid consistency to your stool, allowing a better evacuation of any parasites your morning herbs may have weakened or killed.

Currently I’m using a combination of both Psyllium Husk, which is a soluble fibre created from the Plantago ovata plant, alongside Diatomaceous Earth which is a fantastic parasite binder.

Psyllium husk

Psyllium husk acts a purpose all binder that encourages the transit of waste through your digestive system. When mixed with a liquid, ideally water, psyllium husk swells and forms a gel like consistency with increased bulk. This can stimulate your intestines to contract and encourages a healthy transit through the bowel. Think of psyllium husk as the sweeping brush that cleanses the inside of your digestive tract whilst encouraging the removal of any parasites or eggs.

Diatomaceous Earth

Diatomaceous Earth Or DE for short, is a white powdery substance formed from the fossils of single-celled organisms. Whilst this may sound strange, these tiny fossilised creatures actually serve as a very powerful intestinal binder. What’s more diatomaceous earth has been shown to be particularly effective against parasites. In this animal study chickens fed Diatomaceous Earth had significantly less parasites & worms than the non-treated group. This is because the microscopic fossils are said to have a dehydrating and lacerating effect on parasites, leaving them prone to weakness or death and eventually removal from your body. Essentially these tiny fossils slice & dice there way through the parasites whilst keeping your insides healthy.

Binder dosage

When starting to take either DE or Psyllium Husk its extremely important to understand that both of these products can be binding in more ways than one. That means start off slow and drink plenty of water when consuming either. I recommend starting with 1/2 a teaspoon of Psyllium Husk and 1/2 a teaspoon of Diatomaceous Earth in a large glass of water. I advise to mix the DE first as it will dissolve a lot easier, then add the psyllium husk afterwards. To really get these mixed well I recommend topping your glass up with a small amount of boiled water. This helps the psyllium husk to really bulk up and can make drinking the entire thing easier. Once finished try to drink another full glass of water.

After your first 4 days consider increasing both psyllium husk and DE to 1 teaspoon each. Then keep increasing by 1/2 teaspoon every 4 days until you reach 2 teaspoons each. If you’re body can handle an increase then go ahead, if you already feel too much of a binding effect then staying at 1/2 teaspoon still has its advantages.


Please note: It is very important to incorporate some type of intestinal binder into your parasite cleanse. This is because as you kill parasites they can lay anywhere from hundreds to thousands of eggs as they exit as a defence mechanism. Don’t spend all your precious energy killing parasites but not effectively removing them. In addition throughout the lifetime and especially when dead parasites release a tremendous amount of ammonia in the body. An increase in ammonia has been known to cause such problems as;


  • Confusion.
  • Fatigue.
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Nausea with or without vomiting.
  • Pain in the back, sides or abdomen.
  • Weakness (loss of strength)

Do any of these problems sound familiar? If so it could be from too much ammonia in your system as a result of parasites or parasites die-off. Include some kind of binder in order to flush out the dead parasites as early as possible. This is essential if you are suffering from extreme herx-reactions. Other useful binders include Activated Charcoal, Enterosgel, or even Modified Citrus Pectin.

10.30am – Herbal tincture

Once you’ve taken your binder wait 90 minutes then consume a liquid tincture of the ‘Big Three’ herbs, cloves, wormwood and black walnut. I have chosen a simple complex by a well known brand Now Foods. This tincture contains powerful extracts of all three herbs in a single liquid tincture for maximum absorption. With approximately 37 doses per bottle at between 1/2 to 2 droppers twice per day, making this one of the best ‘bang for your buck’ type products. You should begin with half a dropper as this product has a distinctly bitter anti-parasite taste! Try to avoid mixing tinctures, no matter how bad the taste, with fruit juices. Fruit juices or fizzy drinks are absolutely full of sugar which will feed parasites.

NOTE: If you can afford one product in this entire anti-parasite routine, pick this one. This combination of herbs have been used for thousands of years to expell all stages of the parasite life-cycle from eggs, to juvenile to adults.

12.00pm – Anti-parasite snack

Diet is an extremely personal and involved topic so I’ve decided against discussing it in this article. However, one thing I needed to decide on quickly would be what snack I would be incorporating in my parasite-cleanse. People with high parasite burden can often suffer with increased appetite problems. Do yourself a favour and decide on a healthy snack to avoid yourself returning to processed or high sugar foods.

This is where pumpkin seeds get involved. I have replaced almost all my snacks with pumpkin seeds, firstly they are delicious, they pack a powerful nutritious content, but most importantly pumpkin seeds are proven anti-parasitics. Pumpkin seeds don’t kill parasites, instead they paralyse them and encourage them to be excreted in regular bowel movements. This is especially helpful because the parasites are not killed they are unable to expell toxins on exit. As always try to buy organic non-GMO whenever possible.

3.00pm – Second herbal capsule dose

In the afternoon take your second dose of Health4All Wormwood, Black Walnut & Cloves capsules. This is 3x Cloves, 3x BlackWalnut and 3x Wormwood capsules. I love the capsules because you don’t have to disrupt your taste buds or diet. Simply pop your afternoon dosage either an hour before, or after food.

6.00pm – Second herbal tincture dose

To start the evening you can enjoy a second dose of the Now Foods Green Black Walnut Wormwood Complex – eventually trying to work your way to 2 full droppers in each dose.

9.00pm – Third herbal capsule dose

Your third and final dose of Health4All Wormwood, Black Walnut & Cloves capsules. That’s 3x Cloves, 3x Black Walnut and 3x Wormwood capsules on an empty stomach.

Now you’ve done a lot of cleansing today which means a lot of (hopefully) dead parasites in your body. Two things are incredibly important when detoxing parasites, you need to be having multiple bowel movements per day to expel these dead parasites. Secondly, you need to safely manage your die-off symptoms. For some people they don’t even notice the die-off symptoms, for me however I had pounding headaches after beginning the 3 herbs.

This is where it is especially important to be consuming intestinal binders regularly.


Die off symptoms can be a result of dead-parasites expelling toxins in your body. Throughout a parasite life-cycle the normal metabolic process releases huge amounts of ammonia asa waste. A simple & powerful product to avoid this ammonia build up is L-Glutamine. The amino-acid L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino-acid found in the body. When blood levels of ammonia increase the body utilises L-Glutamine to reduce ammonia build up in the gut. What’s more L-Glutamine is the amino acid directly responsible for feeding the cells that line your intestinal wall. Many people who suffer from parasite overload also suffer from leaky-gut so consider incorporating this cheap and readily available supplement into your diet. Remember, always buy the powder version as the capsules are very overpriced.

  • Behaviour disturbances
  • Protein avoidance
  • Intellectual impairment
  • Migraines or headaches
  • Gait abnormality
  • Anxiety
  • Slurred or confused speech
  • Daytime sleepiness and difficulty sleeping at night
  • Difficulty thinking
  • Forgetfulness
  • Poor judgement
  • Personality changes
  • Lack of concentration
  • Sweet or strange breath odour
  • Shaky hands
  • Slow movements



Before bedtime

I usually take all my regular minerals & vitamins before bed so they do not interfere with my parasite-cleanse. However, take your usual supplements whenever you feel most comfortable. If you feel the die-off symptoms are not noticeable, consider increasing your dose the next day. If your symptoms are noticeable consider taking a second binder drink before bed to increase the speed in which toxins are expelled. Remember some binders such as charcoal, whilst extremely effective, will also bind medicine or supplements, try to avoid taking binders alongside anything you want to absorb.

Foods Tips

In order to stay disciplined to your detox you need healthy foods that will help rid your body of parasites even faster. There is no point feeding the parasites, instead use the precious time you eat to ingest some parasite-fighting food!

  • Raw Pumpkin Seeds (add a little Himalayan salt for flavour)
  • Raw Onion & Garlic – cut 1 small onion finely and 3 medium garlic cloves. Alternatively blend them in a food processor, add either salt, balsamic vinegar, hot sauce, black pepper, or olive oil. All of these are anti-parasitic foods than can enhance flavour. Yes this is a strong taste, but it makes a tasty and powerful side-salad to any dish.
  • Ditch the sugar – yes everywhere. No over-processed and high sugar cereal, no toast with jam, peanut butter or honey.
  • If you sugar your coffee, try adding cacao nibs instead. Even though they’re naturally bitter they can suppress your sugar craving and are anti-parasitic too.
  • Include as much green leafy vegetables as possible. If you can’t eat them, juice them! Chlorophyll which makes the rich green colour has extremely potent anti-parasite qualities. If you

Herbs to season all meals with

Include as much as possible, as often as possible. Herbs can be extremely powerful when used regularly. Get in to the habit of including at least one of these herbs into every meal- this is a very easy way to bring parasite-fighting foods into the body.

  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Turmeric
  • Garlic
  • Holy Basil
  • Sage
  • Thyme
  • Oregano
  • Parsley
  • Neem
  • Wormwood
  • Cannabis (not a herb, but a powerful anti-parasitic plant)

Parasite fighting tea to drink throughout the day

Hot tea is a great way to further include parasite-fighting foods or herbs into the the body. Consider incorporating the following as frequently as possible. Simply add a teaspoon of any of the following ingredients to a pot of (ideally distilled) water and sit on the hob until it boils, once the water is boiling reduce the pot to a simmer and leave for 20 minutes.

  • Dandelion Root
  • Stinging Nettle
  • Clove
  • Wormwood
  • Ginger (ideally fresh)
  • Echinacea
  • Cannabis leaf/stem/bud (CBD or THC strains work equally well)
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Garlic
  • Lemon juice (fresh)

Mix any of the above to make a powerful parasite-fighting tea. My normal recipe is one teaspoon wormwood, cloves, dandelion root, a thumb sized piece of fresh peeled ginger, a garlic clove and a dash of salt. Play with the recipes until you find something bearable. Remember.. it will be BITTER! The bitter taste is what activates your bodies digestive function as well as what kills the parasites. At first at lemon juice until you feel it’s palatable.



That’s it! Include as much of the above into your routine as possible. You don’t have to do everything at once but begin to shift your mindset from a “eating for comfort” to “eating for purpose”. One you shift your mindset and set the goal of being parasite-free you’ll find this much easier.

Please remember: If you plan on starting a parasite cleanse then aim for a minimum of 60 days and keep your elimination regular. Many parasite life-cycles are 30 days so you want to completely eradicate them. Many people have stated the die-off reactions are worse if you stop and start a routine. Start your routine, dedicate yourself, and get those parasites OUT! Good luck to all who embark on this journey
